Red and Blue Room (Adult Version)
Slowly and carefully
He sews you up,
Inside your little room
He knits and sews,
It’s a cocoon
Of red and blue,
Colours you loathe
It’s the reason
He chose them,
In your little room
Painstakingly
He works
In heavy wool
“It’ll keep you warm”
In summer.
Summer!
A padded cell
Inside your little room.
Complain - you must!
But his insouciance
Surprises you.
And anyway,
Two colours
Simple contrasts
A little harmony…
In your little room.
Always kind
He makes holes
For hands and feet.
