Red and Blue Room (Adult Version)

Slowly and carefully
He sews you up,

Inside your little room

He knits and sews,
It’s a cocoon
Of red and blue,

Colours you loathe
It’s the reason
He chose them,

In your little room

He works
In heavy wool

“It’ll keep you warm”
In summer.  Summer!
A padded cell

Inside your little room.

Complain - you must!
But his insouciance
Surprises you.

And anyway,

Two colours
Simple contrasts
A little harmony…

In your little room.

Always kind
He makes holes
For hands and feet.

(The inspiration is from  a number of pieces by Louise Bourgeois - you can work them out!)
